Description
The packet-tracer-launcher is a command-line utility to initiate, control, and stop packet captures on a network interface. It’s used in scenarios where deeper traffic analysis is required—such as diagnosing why a service is unreachable, understanding handshake failures, or debugging high-latency transactions.
The script supports specifying filters (e.g., “capture only traffic on port 443”), saving the output as .pcap files, and optionally auto-uploading them for centralized analysis. It can auto-stop after a set time or file size to avoid excessive disk usage.
